This is also a great place to stay in winter.

It is only 11 km from the Pirchnerhof to the Kronplatz ski area. A dedicated ski lift for children is available there and fun and games are guaranteed in the ski kindergarten.

Kronplatz has a special place in the heart of mountain-lovers. The 2,275m high Kronplatz summit, affectionately known as the “bald head” is visible from far around. It may not be the most beautiful mountain in the world, nor the highest or most striking, but it has a strong character and is an ideal mountain for skiing.

Fourteen modern cable cars, eight drag lifts and eight chairlifts bring you up from three sides of the mountain onto the wide, mostly treeless summit of Kronplatz. Thanks to the high transportation capacity of over 62,000 people per hour, the 31 lifts of the area are rarely full, which means hardly any waiting time. The Kronplatz ski area has over 100 km of well-prepared slopes. Perfect snow conditions are ensured by modern snow systems - all slopes can be covered by artificial snow - and 31 piste preparation machines with an army of almost 250 workers. Pistes range from gentle slopes for complete beginners to descents which will challenge even advanced skiers.

The eastern slopes of South Tyrol’s ‘number one ski mountain’ - as Kronplatz is called - are a well-known and well-loved snowboarding area. The four ski runs down to the valley are also unique. Kronplatz has four valley runs of between 5 and 6.5 km long, which thanks to the artificial snow systems are open until late in the season.

A 25 minute car journey will take you to the “Dolomiti Superski” area (Alta Badia) or to the “Hochpustertal” (Haunold) ski area.

On request we can also accompany you to various skiing tours.
